Kondev (ANL); February 17, 2017 166GD c 2017Wu04: The {+166}Gd nuclide was produced at the RIBF-RIKEN facility 166GD2c using the {+9}Be({+238}U,F) reaction at E=345 MeV/nucleon. Two 166GD3c experiments, optimized for the transmission of {+158}Nd and {+170}Dy 166GD4c ions, were carried out with average beam intensities of 7 pnA and 12 166GD5c pnA, respectively. The identification of the nuclide of interest was 166GD6c made in the BigRIPS separator by determining the atomic number and the 166GD7c mass-to-charge ratio of the ion using the tof-B|r-|DE method. The 166GD8c reaction products were transported through the ZeroDegree Spectrometer 166GD9c and implanted into the beta-counting system WAS3ABi that was surrounded 166GDac by the EURICA array comprising of 84 HPGe detectors. The typical 166GDbc implantation rate was ~~100 ions/s. Measured: implanted ion-|b{+-}-t, 166GDcc implanted ion-|b{+-}-|g-t and implanted ions-|g-t correlations. 166GDdc Deduced: T{-1/2}. 166GD L 0.0 0+ 5.4 S 12 166GD2 L %B-=100 166GD cL %B-$Only |b{+-} decay mode is expected. 166GD cL T$From a fit to the implanted ion-|b{+-}-t spectrum using the 166GD2cL least-squares and maximum-likelihood methods. The data analysis 166GD3cL included contributions from the parent, daughter and grand-daughter 166GD4cL decays, as well as a constant background.
