Singh (McMaster), Nov 25, 2014 37MG c Coulomb and nuclear dominated 1 neutron removal reaction: 37MG c Projectile: {+37}Mg secondary beam produced by projectile 37MG2c fragmentation at RIKEN with E({+37}Mg)=240 MeV/u mid target 37MG3c energy for C target (thickness 2.54 g/cm{+2}) and ({+37}Mg)=244 MeV/u 37MG4c mid target energy for Pb target (thickness 3.37 g/cm{+2}) with typical 37MG5c intensity of 6 pps 37MG c Detectors: {+36}Mg residues produced were identified by their 37MG2c B|r, tof, and |DE using the Zero Degree Spectrometer and the 37MG3c |g-rays detected with the DALI2 detector array at RIBF-RIKEN facility. 37MG c Measured: E|g, I|g, ({+36}Mg residue)|g-coin and cross-section based 37MG2c on known 2+ |) 0+ and 4+ |) 2+ |g-rays in {+36}Mg. 37MG c Combined analysis of the data from Coulomb- and nuclear- 37MG2c dominated 1n-removal reactions from {+37}Mg was performed 37MG3c to extract S(n), J|p and C{+2}S. 37MG c Theory: Large scale shell model calculations using the {Isd}-{Ipf} 37MG2c cross shell- modified monopole (SDPF-M) Sm effective interaction. 37MG c 37MG c Experimental S(n)({+37}Mg)=0.22 MeV {I+12-9} for 2p{-3/2} or 2p{-1/2} 37MG2c neutron removal; 0.40 MeV {I+19-13} for 2s{-1/2} neutron removal 37MG3c (2014K014). These values are consistent with S(n)=0.16 MeV {I68} 37MG4c (systematic trends, 2012Wa38) 37MG L 0.0 (3/2-) 37MG cL J$3/2- is more likely but 1/2- is not fully excluded, whereas 1/2+ 37MG2cL is very unlikely when compared to shell-model calculations. The 37MG3cL J|p assignment is made from comparisons of measured inclusive and 37MG4cL partial one-neutron-removal cross sections and the measured parallel 37MG5cL momentum distribution of {+36}Mg residues with eikonal-model 37MG6cL predictions using C{+2}S value noted below. From consistency of the 37MG7cL measured data with large scale shell model calculations, {+37}Mg is 37MG8cL identified as deformed and having a significant(|?40%) p-wave neutron 37MG9cL halo component with a {+36}Mg(0+,g.s.)~#(|n2p{-3/2} or |n2p{-1/2}) 37MGAcL configuration, and lies within the "island of inversion". 37MG cL $Experimental C{+2}S=0.42 {I+14-12} for 2p{-3/2} or 2p{-1/2} neutron 37MG2cL removal; 0.40 {I+16-13} for 2s{-1/2} neutron removal 37MG 9BE(48CA,XG):T1/2:XUNDL-2 2022CR03 202304 37MG c Compiled (unevaluated) dataset from 2022Cr03: Phys Rev Lett. 129, 37MG2c 212501 (2022) 37MG c Compiled by E. J. Gass (NNDC,BNL) (February 28, 2023). 37MG c {+48}Ca beam was accelerated to 172.3 MeV/u through the FRIB linac. 37MG2c Fully-stripped 120 particle-nA beam of {+48}Ca{+20+} collided with 37MG3c 8.89mm {+9}Be fragmentation target. Preseparator selected nuclei with 37MG4c B|r of 5.100 Tm to optimize {+42}Si. Additional separation was 37MG5c carried out by the ARIS. The cocktail beam of fragments was delivered 37MG6c to FDSi at 4.904 Tm. In the center of FDSi was a 5 mm-thick 37MG7c fast-response YSO scintillation detector sandwiched by two plastic 37MG8c scintillator veto detectors. This was surrounded by 11 HPGe clover 37MG9c detectors and 15 fast-timing LaBr{-3} detectors in a hemisphere to 37MGac the north. On the south side were 88 neutron detectors of the VANDLE 37MGbc array in two layers 90 and 96 cm from the implantation detector. Two 37MGcc large-area Si PIN detectors and a 2-mm-thick plastic scintillator 37MGdc were positioned 1.5 m upstream in the last diagnostic detector box of 37MGec the beamline. Ions were identified using event-by-event energy loss 37MGfc in the PIN detector (to determine Z) and time-of-flight from a 37MGgc plastic timing scintillator in ARIS to the timing scintillator in the 37MGhc diagnostic detector box (to determine A/Q). Half-lives were obtained 37MGic by fitting decay curves to a function considering the decay of the 37MGjc parent, growth and decay of daughters, potential |bn and |b2n decay 37MGkc branches, and constant background. 37MG L 0.0 6.4 MS 15 37MG cL T$from fit to decay curve with function that included decay of parent, 37MG2cL exponential growth and decay of daughters (including |bn and |b2n 37MG3cL branches) and a constant background (2022Cr03). Reported as 37MG4cL 6.4 ms {I4} (stat) {I14} (syst).
